Like a future agronomist...

Hi! Did you know that agriculture uses 70% of the freshwater withdrawn worldwide? Well, this is a huge volume of this resource, that we must care about it, but also we need to eat, and for this reason is that my major have like main objective produce food with a smaller amount of water, being responsible with its use and using it efficiently and consciously with help of technified irrigation. I would like to use the tools that my major give me and in this way be able to achieve with this mission, increase the performance and production of our crops. In this area there are people that studies the genetics of the different species and get varieties that consume less water, with high production, high performance, nutritious and tasty. All of the last topics are reaaaaally important, over all in ours times where we're living a climate change doing the crops more susceptibles to water deficit and pests. This is an important point, 'cause a irresponsable application of pesticies (and fertilizers) can contaminate the food and even the groundwater. So, these are some of the issues that I would like to address as a future agronomist. I hope you're well!
